How to use The Big Bean Boost mission pack
Turn bean eating into a playful, no-pressure challenge with The Big Bean Boost mission pack. It will help make each little try feel like a big win, building confidence and keeping the focus on progress, not perfection.
We have distributed over 4 million wall charts, with 87% of parents telling us that their children improve their diets as a result. They really work, just follow our top tips below:
Share the story
Meet the Bean Monsters! They love beans, not just for the taste, but because every time they eat them, they get a temporary, totally ridiculous superpower! Such as Boogie’s Spontaneous Disco Boost or Toot’s Remarkable Sparkle Boost!
Encourage your children to copy one of the monsters or invent their own funny power boost – then act it out whenever they eat beans. Even better if you join in the fun!
Start by sharing this idea with your kids and let the giggles begin!
Put up the chart
42% of parents put our charts on the fridge and 43% on the kitchen wall. Where will you put yours?
Explore!
Have fun exploring The Big Bean Boost reward chart with your child. Follow the monsters through the bean machine and discover the ridiculous powers beans give them.
Have fun!
Have fun reading the monsters’ silly powers and acting them out! Kids can invent new ones when they try beans… and even make some up for you. (You have been warned!) You can remind them that their Bean-Boosted powers are only temporary – but more powers can be gained with every bean tasting.
Stickers!
Let your child add one of their BEAN BOOSTED stickers onto the chart every time they try beans… don’t forget to give them plenty of praise.
Encouraging words
Parental encouragement, support and joining in are absolutely key – not just for this activity, but for raising happy, healthy kids in general. Use positive, playful words to spark your child’s imagination.
‘Trying’ looks different for every child
Licking, sniffing or taking a tiny bite (even if they spit it out!) all count. The goal is to help them explore beans without pressure… and to see you enjoying them too!
Keep rewards simple and fun – but not food-based
Skip the dessert rewards – they can make trying new foods feel like a chore. Instead, try extra story time, a small toy or a fun activity together. The best reward? Time with you… especially if there are giggles thrown into the mix!
Make it a celebration!
Use the reward chart and stickers to track progress. Celebrate every try with big praise – kids love knowing you’re proud of them. Get the whole family to join the fun with their own ridiculously silly bean-boosted powers.
Did we mention fun?
The more relaxed they feel, the more likely they’ll eat beans long term. Try bean tasting at snack time or during a playful activity instead of dinner.
Kids are more open to new foods when they’re introduced through play, laughter and shared experiences with adults.

The monster characters help parents role model eating beans, the silly powers act as natural rewards that make each bite exciting, and reward charts encourage re-offering, so beans become familiar over time.
Together, these Three Rs – ROLE MODELLING, REWARDING AND RE-OFFERING – create positive associations that last.
