Frozen fun with fresh fruit
Looking for a snack that’s cool and refreshing and a whole lot of fun to make? Lollies are the answer.
They’re a brilliant way to squeeze more fruit into snack time – and even a bit veg too! Plus, kids love getting stuck into the process – picking flavours, whizzing up ingredients, and checking the freezer a million times to see if they’re ready.
Lollies look like a treat. Taste like a treat. And you’re in charge of all the good stuff that goes in them.

No complicated recipes – just blend, pour, and freeze! The best bit? Kids can get stuck in from start to finish.
Nessie from Cooking with Kids & Co shares some simple, delicious lolly ideas – and shows just how fun and easy they are to make together.
Here’s the basic method:

Pick your fruit (or veg!)
fresh or frozen, chopped, mashed, or blitzed

Add something creamy or juicy
plain yoghurt, smoothie, fruit juice or coconut milk

Mix it up
and pour into lolly moulds (or yoghurt pots / ice cube trays)

Add lolly sticks
and freeze for at least 4 hours
Bonus idea: Layer your mixtures or drop in sliced berries for a rainbow lolly!

Tip: Give your mix a quick taste before freezing – if it’s not quite sweet enough, add mashed ripe banana or a drizzle of honey.
